Deep Fryer for the Moment

I usually use the same frying oil for the same bag of fries, which takes awhile. It is somewhat inconvinient when I use the cast iron skillets. Since I already have a rarely used Lodge Dutch oven, I simply use it for frying, while my other skillets are still available. So, just for the moment, my Dutch oven is my deep fryer.

My Broken French Press

This French press was accidently dropped onto the floor while I was putting dishes away. Yes, accidents do happen. I couldn't believe it because I'm usually really careful with my things.

Since a milk frother container also came with the press, I decided to use the frother container as my next tea pot. The press handle fit into the frother snuggly. The hot water made it hard to handle without the handle, which gave me an idea.

Since the frother and the French press were the same size, I managed to take the handle off and put it onto the frother. The process worked like I expected. Now, I can keep on brewing teas for 1 person without a lot of hassles.
I think that something like this as a set is very hard to find now. Lately, I have not seen any small French presses like it in a lot of stores. I also wonder if the small French presses are still popular or not. Looking for something like this can be my next quest to look around.

1 of my Collecton

This is my first clay pot. I've had this for awhile. It's a convinient stock pot for different dishes. I mainly use it for my stew.

台灣香腸

Here is a package of Taiwanese sausages. The way how I like is steaming one or two of them with rice. This can enhance the flavor of the rice. The other way is cutting them at an angle, so that they look like an oval shape, and stir fry with some onions (or leeks) and garlic. Since the sausage is bit salty, I do not recommend adding more salt.

My French Press

Here is a Bodum French press. This is actually the first French press that I ever bought. Even though it is design for coffee, I mainly use for brewing tea while having a friend or two.

How I Drink my Tea

This is how I drink my tea whie at home alone. I have this French press for years. A milk frother also comes with it, but not in the picture. Drinking loose tea leaves with this French press is really easy and simple, just the way I like it.

Donabe

Here is my new donabe. This is closest pot that I could find to the Chinese clay (or sand) pots in the Chinese market today. This pot does not look as rustic as the Chinese clay pot. For the time being, I just care about the presentation and the quality.
While these pictures were taken, I was in the process of seasoning. What I used were rice, water, a little bit of Kosher salt, and chrysanthemum tea leaves. During the process, I added some water from cooking dumplings. Obviously, the pot was siting on the portable butane gas stove.Of course, I am planning to expand my cooking skill, styles, and understanding.

New Tea Set

Here is my new tea set, Bodum Le Pot tea set. I got this while window shopping at a Goodwill store. When I found it, the set still looked brand-spaking-new. Why did I buy it? My parents and I are tea drinkers. They plan to be in town in the near future. Having a tea set like this is easier. I hope this set will serve me well.
